About Me

My photo
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
I'm just your regular everyday girl, born and raised in Toronto =D. Now the fun stuff: I love fashion, beauty, and blogging. This blog is kinda like my diary in that I write a lot of personal stuff like what's happening in my life today. You won't find an celebrity gossip or world news. Hopefully you can relate to the stuff in my entries. I will update a makeup column and a fashion column every now and then.... prolly once a month. I've been collecting makeup ever since I was 15 and I've always had a flare for fashion. My favourite styles being preppy and grunge. For makeup.... I'm a minimalist with a pop of colour on the eyes. Enjoy! =D *kiss kiss*

Absence makes the heart grow FONDER!!!!

So it's true what they say... absence does make the heart grow fonder!!! So at my cousin's place.... sleeping over!!! =D Yes once again....
So started cooking a couple days ago. On friday, I cooked asparagus, ham, cheese, and mushroom crepes. It was delicious!!! Here's the recipe if anyone stumbles across my blog or just simply wants a recipe!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Basic Crepe Recipe

For numerous crepes
4 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of sugar
2 tbsp of melted butter

Place flour sugar and salt in a mixing bowl
Add all the eggs and mix well
Add the butter and the milk to dilute to the right consistency (it should have the viscosity of a gravy)
Preheat a non stick skillet or a crepe pan and pour some batter in it, make sure to spread it evenly around the pan, cook until light golden and turn to the other side and finish the cooking
Repeat until you have finished the batter

Assembling the crepes

12 crepes 6inches
24 spears of small size green asparagus. Pre-cooked.
12 spears of white asparagus. Pre-cooked
2 cups White mushrooms cooked
8 slices of Italian ham
12 slices of emmental cheese
1 cup of grated padano
salt, pepper

For the Sauce:

2 shallots, peeled and chopped very finely
4 oz. of vegetable stock
8 asparagus spears
1 cup 35% cream
2 oz butter

Spread the crepe on a table, place a slice of cheese on each crepe, lay slice of ham on the cheese and do the same for the mushrooms and put 2 green and 1 white asparagus on it and sprinkle some padano, then roll the crepe into a cannelloni shape. Let the asparagus tips stick out (¼ inch) of the crepe. Arrange the crepe in a buttered oven-proof dish and bake until hot

Prepare the Sauce

Sauté the shallots in some butter until they are tender, add the asparagus and sauté for a few minutes. Add some vegetable stock, simmer gently until the asparagus are totally cooked and add the cream, taste for correct seasoning, cook until nice and creamy looking, about 2 minutes, set aside and keep warm until needed.

Place some sauce on the bottom of a plate and arrange the crepes on it sprinkle with some more cheese and serve

Today I cooked a squash pancake with creamed leeks.
It was.... quite the dish. I think it was ok, no one died, and it was finished.
I'm not going to put up the recipe just cause it wasn't really a proud moment... perhaps I'm just too hard on myself. I don't know. Either way, if anyone wants, it was just taken off cityline.ca.
So as you can probably see, I've finally started cooking and it's not a total failure. Actually the crepes were delicious.

In other news, I've been meeting my friend every wednesday. He's probably one of my best friends, just cause I can tell him anything and he won't use it again me and it's like he forgets, it but i know he doesn't. That's why he's such a great friend. It's so simple between us. It's always so simple. I hadn't talked to him for a year and when we meet again, it's like nothing changed and in fact, we're closer than ever. Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder. It's so easy to talk to someone who doesn't know any of your other friends and you don't really know any of his friends. It's like everything's just between the two of u and u don't have to worry about anyone know anything. It's a venting process, but it's mutual. We talk about many random things... like my quirkyness and his wonderful attributes...lol. JK JK!!! *sigh. He's like my therapist... thx god =D

Anyway, gonna go do something.... like talk to my cousins?
